The Centre for Regional Geography at the European Researchers’ Night 2024

The Centre for Regional Geography at the European Researchers’ Night 2024

The third edition of the European Researchers’ Night took place on 27 September 2024, between 1:00 PM and 11:00 PM. The event, which promotes the popularization of research, innovation and technology transfer activities among the general public, has become increasingly widespread in Romania, so that this year’s edition took place simultaneously in nine Romanian cities: Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Bistrița, Sighetu Marmației, Beclean, Năsăud, Sângeorz-Băi, Pașcani and Hârlău.

During the event, participants of all ages discussed with the researchers present and took part in the activities proposed by the organizers and their partners (research centres, higher education institutions, pre-university education institutions and centres, local and county administrations, economic units, associations and NGOs).

The Centre for Regional Geography was present at the event for the third time, also joining this year’s edition, which was held in Cluj-Napoca on the plateau adjacent to the “Horia Demian” Sports Hall. In addition to engaging in discussions with the representatives of the Centre, the participants who visited the stand took part in the workshop Urban Planning with and for the Community – a territorial planning workshop active throughout the event, in the book exhibition presenting the published results of the Centre for Regional Geography (spatial plans, territorial development strategies, volumes of student research in territorial planning and development), as well as in the tombola with “scientific” prizes.

The fourth edition of this event will take place on 26 September 2025.
