Bridging Regional Responses to Marginalization and Disparities in a Globalized World, 9-10 August 2021, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The Annual Conference of the International Geographical Union’s C20.32 Commission on Marginalization, Globalization, and Regional and Local Responses, organized in partnership with the Centre for Regional Geography of the Faculty of Geography within Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, was held on 9 and 10 August 2021 in a virtual format.

The two-day event included the presentation of 22 papers distributed in one panel and five paper sessions, an hour and a half online concert, and a business meeting, and involved 44 participants from 13 countries (Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Finland, Israel, Malaysia, Mozambique, Nepal, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and Switzerland). Despite the online format, the Q&A sessions were truly interactive and managed to create virtual academic ‘bridges’ that connected knowledge, experiences, and practices from five continents.
