The Centre for Regional Geography at the European Researchers’ Night 2025

A new edition of the European Researchers’ Night was held on Friday, 27 September 2025. The event, organised as the main activity within the SCIENCE4FUTURE-III project, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON), promotes the popularisation of research, innovation and technology transfer activities among the general public. This initiative has gained increasing popularity in Romania, so that this year’s edition took place simultaneously in nine cities: Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Bistrița, Sighetu Marmației, Beclean, Năsăud, Sângeorz-Băi, Pașcani and Hârlău.

During the event, participants of all age groups discussed with the researchers present and took part in the activities proposed by the organizers and their partners (research centres, higher education institutions, pre-university education institutions and centres, local and county administrations, economic units, associations and NGOs).

The Centre for Regional Geography participated for the fourth time, also taking part in this year’s edition, which was organised in Cluj-Napoca on the plateau adjacent to the “Horia Demian” Sports Hall. In addition to engaging in discussions with the representatives of the Centre, the participants who visited the stand took part in the workshop Urban Planning with and for the Community – a territorial planning workshop that was active throughout the event. They also participated in the book exhibition that presented the published results of the Centre for Regional Geography (spatial plans, territorial development strategies, volumes of student research in territorial planning and development), as well as in the tombola with “scientific” prizes.
