The update of the Maramureş County Spatial Plan results from accessing European funds within the “Mara Strategy” project, financed through the Operational Programme Administrative Capacity 2014-2020, which supports the development of documents related to the development of Maramureş county in the next period, plans and sectoral strategies, starting from the updating of planning documents. The new document updates the former Maramureş County Spatial Plan, also made by a group of specialists from the Centre for Regional Geography within the Faculty of Geography, led by Professor Pompei Cocean, PhD. The document follows the structure of the content framework of county spatial plans by the four target areas: 1. Structure of the Territory, 2. Socio-demographic Structure, 3. Structure of Economic Activities, 4. Territorial Context.
