Practical Training in Ţinutul Pădurenilor, 9-12 May 2022
A new edition of the practical training in territorial planning organized by the Centre for Regional Geography took place between the 9th and the 12th of May 2022 and involved students of the Faculty of Geography, from different academic levels and specializations. The location of the current training was Ţinutul Pădurenilor (the District of the Forest People), a territory overlapping a homonymous ethnographic area. In the international context that the population went through, that of adapting to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the theme of the practical training concerned the resilience of Ţinutul Pădurenilor, a resilience already put to the test with the first industrial restructuring experienced by the local communities in the region. Five projects, with as many territorial challenges such as the arrangement of Lake Cinciş, the revitalization of the ethnographic heritage in the village of Poieniţa Voinii, the fate of the marble from the Poiana Ruscă Mountains, the revitalization of the Ghelari industrial area and the arrangement of the decommissioned blast furnace in the village of Govăjdia, represented the themes investigated by the participants.
