How Participatory is Participatory Budgeting… with Adrian Dohotaru
The November 2022 edition of the CGR Meetings had as a guest Adrian Dohotaru, researcher-activist on ecological and social issues. The subject of the discussions was participatory budgeting. Starting from the theorization of the concept, enriched with examples of both good and unsuccessful practice, taken or tested in various cities of the world, participatory budgeting became the subject of the guest’s recently published book. The subject aroused the audience’s interest also by the association with concrete initiatives of won projects, with the (un)equitable distribution of the budget allocated for the competition, and even with the legitimacy of such an approach.
