Transnational Partnership for the Development of the Tisa River Basin
At the beginning of 2012, on the 1st and the 2nd of February 2012, at the invitation of the Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences of the University of Debrecen, Hungary, to create a partnership that aims to develop the Tisa River Basin, the Centre for Regional Geography was represented at the meeting by two members – Mr Raularian Rusu and Mr Sorin Filip, both lecturers at the Faculty of Geography. The meeting with representatives of other universities and research institutions, such as Dr. Szikura Jószef and Dr. Orosz Ildikó, Ferenc Rákoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute (Ukraine), Dr. Nagy Vilmos, Institute of Hydrology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava (Slovakia), Dr. Ivánszky Veronika, University of Novi Sad (Serbia), Professor Sinóros-Szabó Botond, University of Debrecen, Professor Nagy János, Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences of the University of Debrecen, Professor Baranyi Béla, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Centre for Regional Studies, Alföld Institute, Debrecen Department, Professor Dévai György, Dr. Nagy Sándor Alex and Professor Ligetvári Ferenc, University of Debrecen, Biró Gábor, Dr. Nagy István and Kiss Attila, the Eastern Triple Border Research and Development Centre, Mátészalka (Hungary), represented an appropriate framework to establish a partnership agreement between the countries situated on the Tisa River and to elaborate a joint strategy for the rural development in the Tisa River Basin.
