Following the theme of the previous editions, the conference was focused on discussing the latest concerns and research on regional development, the typology, impact and practices for mitigating regional disparities, finding sustainable alternatives for regions or areas in decline. The 2010 ICRD conference brought together 120 participants from France, Hungary, Italy, Romania, and Slovenia and included 85 papers presented in four sections.
