Territorial Development, with or without Planning?
The guest of the 22nd edition of the CGR Meetings was Nicolae Popa, Professor at the West University of Timişoara, Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Department of Geography and Head of the Centre for Regional Development, Cross-Border Studies and Spatial Planning (CDR-START). The topic discussed during the event focused on the planning experience of geographers from Timişoara. We retain the idea that when we talk about spatial planning, natural systems are more resilient than anthropogenic ones, they are self-sustaining and based on an organic development of the territory. The debate also highlighted some reflections associated with the way in which spatial planning studies are now carried out.
