Scientific Journey in the Suburbs of Poland
On the 30th of May 2024, Dr hab. Dorota Mantey, Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Geography and Regional Studies, held a lecture on Contemporary Developments in the Suburbs of Post-Socialist Cities at the Centre for Regional Geography, during the 26th edition of the CGR Meetings. The presentation highlighted conceptual aspects concerning the term “suburbs”, individualizing factors of the emergence of suburbs and examples around Warsaw, the capital of Poland. A strong similarity with the Romanian suburbs was noticeable for most of the forms of suburbs identified.
