Book Release: Rivages dʼEurope. Personnalité et avenir d’un continent ouvert
On the 17th and the 18th of April 2014, during his third visit to Romania, Professor Jean-Marie Miossec from Paul Valéry University of Montpellier, France, returned to Babeş-Bolyai University at the invitation of Professor Pompei Cocean and the Faculty of Geography. On this occasion, he gave a lecture to the Master’s students of the Faculty of Geography on the current trends in regional development worldwide. The lecture was accompanied by the presentation of the book Rivages dʼEurope. Personnalité et avenir d’un continent ouvert, published by L’Harmattan, with a comprehensive overview of geopolitics in Europe.
Professor Miossec’s first visit to Romania was related to the establishment of the first Institute of Regional Studies in Romania (2009) as Professor Miossec is considered one of the most important contemporary European regionalists. This rating is substantiated by Professor Miossec’s militancy for the administrative organization of France based on regional principles.
