In 2004, the Centre for Regional Geography was accredited as a “C”-type research centre by the National University Research Council (CNCSIS).
The Centre for Regional Geography is accredited by the National University Research Council (CNCSIS) and is issued the Certificate of Accreditation No. 32 – CC-C /11.05.2004.
The elaboration of Bistriţa Peri-urban Spatial Plan, coordinated by Professor Pompei Cocean, resulted into a Diploma and the Prize of the Romanian Register of Urban Planners awarded by the Superior Council of the Romanian Register of Urban Planners in 2008.
The research activity of the Centre for Regional Geography led to the creation of a research group specialized in spatial planning. In 2010, the Spatial Planning Research Group was awarded the Certificate of Excellence by Babeş-Bolyai University for its professional activity in research and services.
In 2013, the research conducted by the members of the centre was acknowledged within Babeş-Bolyai University, following the competition for the re-accreditation of the existing research centres.
In 2014, the Centre for Regional Geography celebrated its 10th anniversary of activity. On this occasion, it was awarded the Diploma of Excellence by the University of Oradea, Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport.
In 2014, on its 10th Anniversary, the Centre for Regional Geography was awarded the Diploma of Excellence by the West University of Timişoara, Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography.
In 2014, on its 10th anniversary of research activity, the Centre for Regional Geography was awarded the Reliable Partner Diploma by the National Institute for Research and Development in Constructions, Urbanism and Sustainable Spatial Development INCD URBAN-INCERC, Bucharest.
